A couple of the most popular Brazilian specialty foods...
Feijoada (pronounced fay-ZWAH-da) The specialty dish of Feijoada by Chef Valmor has been customized to a lighter essence for the American taste. The basic ingredients consist of beans with fresh pork, beef, dried meat and sausage. In Brazil, it is usually made with black beans (feijoada à Brasileira). The stew is savored to make your mouth water, as it is cooked slowly with a low heat in a thick clay pot. It is later served with rice, farofa (yucca flour) and other items such as couve (tiny cuts of collard greens).

Moqueca de Peixe (pronounced mo-KEY-kah) Moqueca is a delicious Brazilian fish stew that comes from the Northeastern region of Bahia. The basic ingredients consist of white fish filet, bell peppers, coconut milk, palm oil and spices. Occasionally, the dish may also come with different types of seafood such as shrimp and/or crab, However, the basics are always the same with onion, garlic, cilantro, tomatoes, and a lightly creamy sauce from coconut milk. Served with white rice and vegetables.
